When metal gods meet
Dead Cross was created in a crucible, when Dave Lombardo's band fell apart right before a tour with Descartes a Kant. But Lombardo, who co-founded Slayer, would not be intimidated by a challenge. Instead of bowing out, Lombardo pulled together Justin Pearson and Mike Crain from Retox, as well as Gabe Serbian from The Locust, to form a new hardcore punk supergroup. After kicking off with performances in 2015 and the release of "We'll Sleep When They're Dead" in March 2016, Serbian left and was replaced by Mike Patton of Faith No More. Since their debut album had already been recorded, Patton re-recorded the vocals again separately – penning his own lyrics to create his unique signature. Dead Cross previewed "Shillelagh" on Saint Patrick's Day 2017, whipping fans into a frenzy of anticipation.
