The lineup includes two Taylor brothers on the guitar and vocals, Griffin Goldsmith who plays the drums, Wylie Gelber on the bass, and Lee Pardini who plays the keyboard. The band is known for its lyrics which speak to the listener and tell inspirational stories. The band has been associated with multiple music labels over the years such as MapleMusic Recordings, Loose Music, Hub, and Mercury. The band has also performed with a variety of other bands over the years such as Middle Brother and The New Basement Tapes. The band has also branched out from folk rock into indie rock recently. Dawes is going on tour in 2019.
A History of Dawes
The band came together after Blake Mills left the band called Simon Dawes. At that time, Dawes was looking for a new musical group and brought together the current band. They started performing locally at first and released their first album titled North Hills. This received attention from the Rolling Stone magazine which put them on the map. Then, the band went on TV for the first time in 2010, playing on The Late Show hosted by Craig Ferguson. The band went on to record and release more music such as their single "From a Window Seat" in 2013. Since that time, the band has grown in popularity and has performed for large crowds all over the country. The band will be going on tour again this summer.
The Dawes Tour in 2019
Dawes will be going on tour again this summer and has upcoming tour dates across the country throughout Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, and Michigan. The band will be performing across the entire country, giving everyone the opportunity to take in a Dawes concert. There are cheap Dawes tickets available; however, they do tend to sell out quickly. Anyone who would like to hear this unique band perform live should try to buy their tickets as early as possible.
