The Crossroads Guitar Festival was founded by Eric Clapton. The proceeds benefit a drug treatment center in Antigua called the Crossroads Centre. The first benefit concert was held on June 30th, 1999 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Other venues this festival has been held at include the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, TX, the Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL, and the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. This festival has housed many notable artists including John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Bob Dylan, Mary J Blige and more. Not only do fans get to see incredible artists, they also get to give back to those in need of drug treatment by participating.
2019
The fifth installment of this festival was announced and took place from September 20th, 2019 to the 21st. The festival was held at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. Fans have been waiting for this festival to come around again since 2013. Some of the stars for the 2019 lineup included Los Lobos, Susan Tedeschi, Vince Gill, and more.
