What is Ka?

Called "the most lavish production in the history of Western theater" by none other than the Los Angeles Times, Cirque du Soleil's crowning jewel Ka is an absolutely breathtaking production that features a unique blend of acrobatics, global and ethnic dance, digitally projected visuals and even martial artists and puppets in a performance that often seems to defy the law of physics. The show tells the story of a pair of twins, boy and girl, who embark on a dangerous journey to fulfil their joint destiny. Ka includes a beautiful musical score as well as performances and acrobatic acts by 80 globally-recruited performers. The show has been running since way back in 2004 when it first opened for previews.

Created by visionary director Robert Lepage, Ka is unique in the already unique world of Cirque du Soleil in that it has a single unified storyline throughout, rather than the abstract and sometimes opaque plots in other Cirque du Soleil productions. Ka has received countless awards for its $165 million production, which features two enormous moving floors surrounded by a series of platforms that shift, float and disappear over the course of the show.

2020 Tour

In 2020, Ka was performed at MGM Grand in Las Vegas Saturday through Wednesday at 7:00 and 9:30 PM throughout the year. The show is approximately 90 minutes in length without intermission. If you are interested in taking a small child to see the show, keep in mind that the show has loud noises and phases of darkness which may scare some children.
