Chris Barron got his start in music jamming with high school friends in New Jersey, taking his feelings of being an outsider and putting them to music. He hustled on the local circuit until John Popper of Blues Travelers convinced him to move to New York. Barron joined Popper and guitarist Eric Schenkman in the band Trucking Company. Popper ended up leaving the group, but Schenkman and Barron recruited Aaron Comess and Mark White to finalize the lineup of Spin Doctors. In 2017 he released his first solo album in nine years.
