Living life to a different rhythm

Growing up in the Bay Area, Cheryl Burke's feet were always moving. By the time she was a teenager, she was already dancing competitively. Cheryl Burke debuted on Dancing With the Stars in its second season, a wildly successful season as she and partner Drew Lachey from 98 Degrees snagged first place. She followed up her win with another, helping retired NFL champion Emmitt Smith find his feet on the dance floor. Besides participating in dozens of DTWS seasons, Burke has joined the cast and former competitors on Dancing With the Stars tours all around the country. DTWS also introduced her to her future fiancé, Matthew Lawrence, as his brother Joey competed on DTWS. In recent years, Burke has taken time off from DTWS to pursue other endeavors, including her own dance studio and an active wear clothing line.
