From YouTube to hit singles
Born in New Jersey, Charlie Puth grew up enamored with jazz music. He continued to pursue his music in his own way by going to Berklee College of Music for music production and engineering. Determined to break into the music industry, he focused on getting his music to listeners via YouTube. After winning Perez Hilton's Can You Sing? competition with a duet cover of Adele's "Someone Like You," Charlie Puth signed with Ellen DeGeneres's label eleveneleven. In 2012 Charlie Puth decided to produce his music independently again, and the next year he released his second EP, Ego, online. Charlie Puth frequently collaborates with other artists, including Meghan Trainor on the hit single "Marvin Gaye," Wiz Khalifa on the Furious 7 song "See You Again," and Selena Gomez on "We Don't Talk Anymore" for his debut album.
Voicenotes
On May 11, 2018 Charlie released his second studio album called Voicenotes. This was supposed to help steer his image away from the direction of "love ballads" which many fans know him for. In 2018, he collaborated with many top artists like, One Direction's own Liam Payne, G-Eazy, Boyz II Men, and many more.
