A History of At the Gates

At the Gates was first formed back in 1990. The band came together with a mix of members from the black metal band titled Grotesque. The band enjoyed initial success with this debut and went on to produce a second studio album which was titled With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness. This album was also well-received, which led to the band's breakthrough around 1994. The band enjoyed popularity until they unexpectedly went on hiatus in 1996. The band then reformed in 2007 and has been on tour regularly since 2011. At War with Reality, their first album in 19 years, was released in 2014.
