About American Buffalo

American Buffalo is one of the longest-running plays in the history of American entertainment. The play first premiered close to 45 years ago and continues to run even to this day. The play was written by David Marmet. It premiered out in Chicago before shifting to Broadway. Over the course of its career, the play has toured multiple times and has gathered a large following. The entire play takes place in a junk shop in Chicago and revolves around the sale of a buffalo nickel to a customer. The main character suspects the nickel has been undersold and is understandably upset about this. The play then unfolds as the main characters follow the path of this buffalo nickel and the customer who purchased it.
