From local theater to Queen's frontman
Born in Indianapolis but raised in San Diego, Adam Lambert began performing in local theater and music competitions at a young age. After moving to Los Angeles, Adam Lambert did everything from lead underground rock bands to perform on cruise ships to acting in theatre shows alongside greats like Val Kilmer. He auditioned for the eighth season of American Idol and quickly became one of the judges' favorites for his memorable and powerful performances. His sophomore release, Trespassing, became one of the most celebrated albums of 2012 and gave him the distinction of being the first openly gay singer to debut at number one on the charts.
