About New York Knicks vs. Golden State Warriors
The New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors are two of the NBA's marquee teams. The Knicks have not seen nearly the success Golden State has in recent years; however, that does not mean the team at one point had their fair share of acclaim.
When the Garden was Eden
Basketball has been a staple in NYC for many years, and it's no wonder the Knicks at one time were the team to beat in the NBA. Madison Square Garden has seen some of the league's most legendary moments. One can't help but mention Willis Reed hobbling out of the tunnel on one leg prior to the 1970 Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Reed was hampered by a leg injury and was doubtful to play. Reed would score the first two buckets for the Knicks, which set the tempo for them to go on and defeat the Los Angeles Lakers. Another great moment in MSG history was Larry Johnson's infamous 4-point play in which the Knicks defeated the Indiana Pacers and advanced to the NBA Finals. Trailing by 3 points with 5 seconds left, Larry Johnson hit a 3 pointer and was fouled. He hit his free throw and gave the Knicks a one point lead over Indiana and eventually the win.
Splash Brothers Make History
When you think of today's Golden State Warriors, you think of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Three players Golden State acquired through the NBA Draft and would mold into superstars. Curry and Thompson became known as the "Splash Brothers" elite three point shooters whose beyond-the-arc accuracy would help propel the team to four championships.
Knicks vs Warriors
It's no secret the Warriors are a much better team than the Knicks, but that does not mean that the Knickerbockers are not capable of an upset when they face Golden State. Lead by a young trio of RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, and Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks will have their work cut out for them when they travel to Chase Center Here's how the Knicks have faired against the Warriors throughout the years:
