About Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Celtics was founded in 1946 as one of the league's original eight teams and are one of the most successful basketball teams in NBA history, with 17 NBA Championships in the bag. The Celtics' rise to dominance began in the late 1950s, when they acquired center Bill Russell, ushering the Celtics into the greatest period in franchise history, winning eight consecutive NBA championships from 1959 to 1966. Ever sinced they were founded, Celtics remain as one of the best and most winning teams of National Basket Assosication. The team play their home games at the TD Garden.
A part of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division just like Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers are also one of the biggest teams in the National Basket Assosication, they are one of the oldest franchises in the NBA and one of only eight to survive the league's first decade. The 76ers have had a prominent history, with many Hall of Fame players having played for the organization, including Dolph Schayes, Hal Greer, Wilt Chamberlain, Chet Walker, Billy Cunningham, Julius Erving, Maurice Cheeks, Bobby Jones, Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, George McGinnis, and Allen Iverson. They have won three NBA championships, with their first coming under their previous name, the Syracuse Nationals, in 1955. Sixers play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center.
Celtics vs. Sixers
Two of the biggest teams in the NBA history, Celtics and Sixers. Possibly the most storied rivalry, their history goes back to 1949, when the Sixers were still based in New York. Both members of the league's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division, the two teams met each other the most in the NBA Playoffs and played a total of 21 series, with Celtics winning the 14 of these. In all, these two teams have squared up against each other 456 times in the regular season, and for 109 games in the playoffs, including three postseason series since 2010.
