"The scenery around the property was very beautiful. Overall the property was what I would consider a little tired. Lots of rooms to maintain and insufficient funds to do so. All inclusive was average to be kind food possibly below average (my fiance suffered from food poisoning after eating fish at lunch on the first day). A property that has a lot of potential but needs a lot of money spending on it."

"The property suffers from significant underinvestment, leading to a noticeable decline in standards. It is poorly maintained and desperately in need of an overhaul. The bedroom facilities are outdated and deteriorating, with crumbling fixtures and old infrastructure, such as hairdryers, that have long since broken and been removed. The towels are old and fraying, adding to the sense of neglect. The bathrooms are in dire need of renovation; they are unacceptable for a hotel of this calibre. It seems the hotel owners have heavily invested in the adjacent luxury tower, leaving the original hotel neglected and in disrepair. The high ratings could be for the luxury tower next door, owned by the same group. That said, the beach is exceptional, truly one of the best."

"Horrible customer service, 1st property ever I booked on Expedia and got a downgrade as a Platinum Member. From a deluxe villa to an apartment and was told I got it cheaper than what it's supposed to be but I guess they don't understand Platinum privileges on Expedia or Hotels.com and they don't work to international standards. No principle and professionalism and they have different prices for themselves than what you see on Expedia or Hotels.com. Was told to add money on top of what I paid on Expedia for the Deluxe villa I booked for, I've never experienced anything like this to wherever I've booked and traveled around the world in summer and other seasons. They couldn't honor my second booking after 3 days either for my family members which I had already paid for so I had to cancel and wait for my refund from Expedia. "

"Loved the staff and our room was nice and cool. The restaurant Licht Haus was gorgeous and the food was delicious! Also, loved the little shop by the restaurant and we got several lovely pieces of jewelry. I especially loved the humane/gentle way of dealing with little adorable monkeys that like to steal snacks. No weird violent pest control methods that I might see in my home country (the US) and I really appreciated that, and I say that as someone whose chocolate croissant was snatched by a monkey. Don't worry, the monkey left the fruit and my phone! "
