We have stayed at another RIU hotel and we were expecting the same type of service, but we were disappointed in the hotel's food services and other guests' behavior. The hotel has various restaurants that are part of the all-inclusive with no reservation options, and if you don't get to the Steak House early enough prior to opening hours, you most likely are not getting to eat there. They do warn you when you arrive to get there early but even early the lines are long and you may not make it after waiting. We never ate at any of the restaurants other than the main buffet, which was disappointing. There is a family pool area that is family friendly but the guests who were there this time in the swim-up bar pool broke into two different fights while we were there and the only regular staff not security arrived and for that reason I wouldn't recommend it for families. I would say the staff were friendly and if you can see past the rest you can have a great time there and their beach is perfect there.

Some things to note: swimming in the ocean was not always possible, due to dangerous conditions; the pools were warm, and therefore, not always refreshing in the heat; bring your own drink container because the reusable cups sometimes didn't seem cleaned.

Great family vacation with many activities for all age levels. Only downfalls were the ability to get dinner at the steakhouse was impossible and the lack of room service was not great but bearable. The AC did not seem to work well anywhere. Restaurants and Bars were hot and room didn’t ever get cold. Needs some work on these things for sure, but for not being a palace level resort, I get it.

Overall, great stay. Friendly staff, beautiful beach. Only recommendation for improvement is to scrap the nightly entertainment, and maybe just offer the best shows on the weekend.
