Everything was clean sheets soft. Beds were hard but still got a good nights sleep. Ac was good. Room quiet. Modern bathroom. Traveling with my senior mom she liked the bars and fold down seat in shower. Would have been nice to have a bellman but understand most modern travelers manage their own. We were pre cruise and had more luggage than usual. As I said my mom is a senior and wasn’t able to help.

An affordable gem so close to all the attractions. We enjoyed our stay in this charming hotel. We were able to walk to all the main Manhattan destinations. Charming!

First the hotel was clean & updated. Next Joey is our favourite New Yorker. He was helpful, friendly and just a great guy. We are hoping to visit again in the off season. Signed from the Siblings in Windsor Ontario Canada.

The location was excellent, just a minute walk to time square. The Hotel was no the best. The bed was very uncomfortable and creaked every time you moved. The air conditioner was connected with an extension cord stretched across the wall, it was very loud and when it cut in it was like it was like a freight train. The toilet ran constant. There was no fridge in the room and no ice machine or vending machine in the building. No bar or restaurant in the building. It was given a 4 star rating not even close.

This hotel is perfectly situated just a few minutes from Time Square. It is extremely clean and the staff are so lovely. The price for a stay is phenomenal. If you book this you must accept that the hotel is very old and basic. It is also fairly noisy at night due to the location so suggest ear plugs but, if you accept the simplicity and use it as a base (rather than somewhere to lounge for the day) it is perfect for a short stay.

It was a good hotel for just wanting to explore downtown NYC. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing stuffy about the place at all. On the last day the gentlemen booked a service for us to take us to the airport. No disrespect to the lovely people at St James, but the ride was awful and the driver rude. Dropped our luggage and drove without even a thank you/goodbye.

The hotel is vintage and cute. Very clean. Excellent location is very walkable for many sight seeing opportunities. The staff is friendly, especially Joey, who was so nice and helpful! Room was decent size for NYC, clean, well stocked bathroom. Bed wasn't terrible but wasn't great. We slept good though. No complaints for a basic hotel, but a mini refrigerator would be nice. Right next door is a great little store for food, drinks, snacks, etc. For being so close to Times Square, it's pretty quiet and feels safe. We would definitely stay again.

We wanted an old fashioned NY hotel. It didn’t disappoint. The room was clean , cool , comfortable and spacious . Bathroom very clean . Location was excellent, next to Times Square.24 Hour Deli next door fantastic for breakfast, had everything you might want .
