Great one night stay
One night stay. Courteous front desk staff. Great location, walking distance to restaurants, sightseeing, pharmacies, stores: Macy's on 34 Street is around the corner. Room was spacious, very comfortable bed and pillows. Free breakfast was plentiful: scrambled eggs, sausage, bread, hot and cold cereal, coffee, tea, fruits. I would stay here again.

Great location! It was easy to get to from JFK (AirTrain then LIRR to Penn Station then a short walk past Macy’s ). Subway access was on the same block. Hotel was clean, room was a good size for my tween and I. Bathroom was clean and in good condition. There was a safe in the room and a fridge so easy to lock things up when out and about and have some water bottle chilled to take along. Breakfast was as expected for a Hampton Inn… some type of egg (omelet some days, scrambled others) and sausage (pork patty one day, chicken patty another), waffle machines, fruit, oatmeal, coffee/tea/hot cocoa and juice. It was busy but people moved through and mostly did not linger. A fair number of families with young children. Coffee/tea/hot coca and water were available all day. One elevator was broken for the first 2 days of our stay. Luckily, it was repaired on the 3rd day of our stay. The staff was friendly.

Good but not great
Location great, handy outside seating area, room reasonably sized for New York. Room not available at 3pm check in time, but was sorted out in 20 minutes. One Elevator stopped working over the weekend, which left only one functioning elevator in a 20 story building. So ended up having to carry luggage down 20 flights of stairs as the elevator was always full by the time it stopped at my floor.

Wonderful overnight stay.
Wonderful room with a great view of the Empire State building. Beds were comfy and the room size was perfect for our needs. Breakfast was plentiful and hot. Front desk staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to help out. Will definitely stay here again.

The location of this hotel is perfect. You really feel like you’re in the heart of NY and you can walk to most of the key attractions. You have a few metro stations a stone throw away as well as great shopping, eg. Macy’s which is just across the road. You are also spoilt for choice when it comes to food outlets including convenience stores. This hotel is just right if you’re intending to drop your bags and head out to explore this fantastic city. Don’t expect a warm welcome or much help from reception staff as none I encountered seemed happy to be there and were quite offhand. But that can be said of most people working in the hospitality industry in NY!

Not a very good stay
Two of us stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and experienced several issues. Our first room, 303, had a lot of street noise all night long. We changed rooms to the 10th floor the next 2 nights. It was quieter, but we requested a room with a view since this was our first trip to NYC, but got rooms with a view of an office building next door. There are no towel racks in the bathrooms. The beds are noisy and not very comfortable and the sheets in the second room were too small for the bed. We had Wi-Fi issues after we changed rooms. Our last morning there was no hot water and the front desk said it would be a couple of hours before hot water is available, then offered a mere $5 refund for the inconvenience. The A/C thermostat would not adjust. The breakfast area is too small for the number of guests and is always very crowded. The hotel location is very close to a subway, but otherwise not the greatest location. We will not stay here again.

Enjoyed my stay. All the staff made me feel welcomed and they were so helpful especially Emmanuel when I arrived earlier than expected. I loved the breakfast and it was a great start to the day. Hotel's location was amazing! Steps away from the 34th St./Herald Square subway which services multiple lines. You can get anyway easily! Also very walkable to all midtown sights & a block away from the Empire State Building. Our room had a beautiful view of the ESB - it was magical! Staff was very kind. Check in/check out could get hectic with a lot of people and very little room in the lobby, but it wasn't horrible. I wish there were more than 2 elevators for the whole hotel but it wasn't that big of an issue. Our room was small (as are most in NYC) but utilized space very well. Would recommend!
