Check in was understandably clunky with new staff training, but very disjointed and not service focussed at all. Simple requests like cancelling shuttle bus booking, and restaurant bookings, were dismissed, prompting the use of QR codes and online bookings. Room overall was fine, checkout was nothing short of frustrating, being told your card doesn’t work an to use another in such a demeaning and rude manner was not appreciated, I had explained to the young man on reception the error code showing was a problem on his end, not mine, it wasn’t until a senior member of staff came and processed the exact same card that it went through no problem. This was my second stay at Ibis Styles, and the only positive I have is from the restaurant, the barista and staff were lovely, food was wonderful and most certainly deserved a positive mention.
