City Lodge at ORTambo a real gem
It was so convenient, efficient, airy, quiet. At 77 I found tv remote complicated and had a problem with charging port. But for the rest, it was such a great find and I will tell people about it. Breakfast excellent. Staff very customer friendly. I should have given 5 stars but not being able to charge my phone caused me stress! Thank you. Jenny

Great price and location. 2 separate stays and both times the beds were exceptionally hard. Both rooms had plumbing problems issues. Food was excellent and inexpensive. Good location.

This is a very nice hotel. Our travel itinerary had us flying into the Johannesburg airport late afternoon and flying out the next day, so we booked this because it looked close to the airport. It is actually attached to the airport, above the parking lot, with a fully enclosed walkway from baggage claim to the hotel. (Grab a luggage cart, it is a long walk.) The hotel is surprisingly nice! Large room. Big shower. Queen bed. Good A/C. Nice restaurant. (Had big salad and pizza, things we didn't have on Safari.). Serves breakfast starting at 4:30am for people who have early flights. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was very convenient for an overnight stay between flights from USA and an intrAfrica flight. When my travel friend and I checked in at the desk, a receptionist told me our room was a single bed queen room. I had reserved a room w two beds and showed her my reservation information. This obviously didn’t sit well with her from facial and body language. She disappeared for ten minutes and then came back with a room for us with two twins. The room was very nice, although the coffee was instant powder and only two small cups. Also there was no shampoo, which surprised me. Otherwise, all was very nice: bedding, cleanliness, convenience.

The City Lodge at OR Tambo is conveniently located off of the airport and is connected by a walk way. The rooms are clean, service is reliable and professional, and the meals are great.
