The Madrid-Barajas International Airport is among the busiest and most architecturally interesting in the world. The Madrid Metro line connects the airport with stations along Line 8, running all the way into the city center. EMT buses operate some night routes in addition to their regular service, also bringing travelers arriving from Spain flights to Madrid. Spain's second largest airport that services international flights to Spain is the Barcelona-El Prat. Rodalies Barcelona is a commuter train service that operates throughout the city, including a stop at the airport. TMB bus lines will take you from the Barcelona-El Prat Airport to your destination. Southern Spain's main airport is the San Pablo in Seville. International flights to Spain are mostly European, with local flights also available.

Spain Weather

Spain's varying landscape results in some differences in climate depending on the region, including areas that experience desert, alpine, or even subtropical climates. Atlantic Spain tends to be cooler than the southern Mediterranean regions. For beach vacations, summer is the best time to book Spain flights. Temperatures usually simmer between 20C and 30C, sometimes climbing higher in large cities like Seville and Madrid. Be advised that some shops and restaurants close down for summer vacation. Between November and March, temperatures can fall below 10C, so be sure to pack sweaters if you plan your flights to Spain in the winter.

Getting Around Spain

Driving in Spain's big cities is not recommended because traffic tends to be dense. Hiring a car, however, could be useful for visitors wishing to explore smaller towns or nearby national parks. Buses and taxis are widely available, as are rental Vespas and scooters. Barcelona and Madrid have an extensive Metro system, with buses covering most of the areas that do not have a Metro station. Big city nightlife infamously lasts until dawn, so night buses do operate. Bicycle rental companies are readily available. Cycling outside of the city is an exceptional way to view the stunning Spanish landscapes. Cordoba, Granada, Valencia, and Zaragoza are easy to navigate by foot. Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville feature clusters of attractions in various districts that are easily accessible using public transportation.
