The property is clean and has several activities including a good kids club. However, they had more than 500 bedrooms occupied and only 5 restaurants. The restaurants had long lines, no reservation, and the service was the slowest service I have experienced in life; 54 minutes for an appetizer at the asian restaurant; 1 hour for some fresh fruit at the Italian restaurant breakfast. I really wanted to say I would go back given the quality of the bedrooms, pool and beach on site, but it will be nearly impossible to convince my husband, who was very frustrated with the wait times and slowness of the restaurants. We ended up eating at the buffet on multiple nights, and unfortunately, the steak never made to our table. Please, either increase the number of servers or the number of restaurants or both, if you want to continue accepting 600 bookings around December.

Deluxe suite was spacious and immaculate. Traveled with young adult sun and liked that living space with Murphy beds could be closed off from master bedroom. Enjoyed restaurant options and waitstaff was top notch!

Absolutely wonderful stay and vacation with family for 10days !! Great staff and ambience. Perhaps can improve on the restaurant booking system via app rather than queueing up. This was our 6th time in Cancun. We've stayed at a different property every time. The Mar Caribe was very good, it just wasn't GREAT. The main drawback (relative, only to other places) was the food. The food was only ok. And they have NO chocolate nearly anywhere on the premises. There is a chocolate cake on the room service menu, but it was pretty tasteless. I was dying for some chocolate by the end of our 1 week stay. But in general the place was just fine. The location is nice on the strip, and very close to the airport. The ocean, as always, was beautiful and the beach nice. The pool area was relatively small (again, only compared to other options on the strip), but we mostly stay by the ocean anyway. One other drawback, the bartenders were not very good. I ordered a lemon drop a few times, and they didn't know how to make it. Only once did a bartender make it good. The other bartenders messed up making a mojito as well. So I guess bottom line is that the food and drink at this place aren't up to par. But otherwise it is a nice enough place.

Stay there for a week around Christmas and it is a wonderful resort. I would highly recommend upgrading to the enclave because on the holidays they don’t let you reserve for hotel restaurants unless you’re in the upgraded section.

Excellent location and beach access, but the restaurants were overcrowded with long wait times. It felt as if we were competing against other guests to find reservations at an onsite restaurant. The room service was extremely slow.

We booked sea facing room with enclave for 4 nights, due to connecting flight delay we could not arrive on the day, I called the reservation and talked to couple of people to request to move our stay by one day. After couple of call Mr. Hugo told me he would honor the request if I email explaining the flight issue. After his promise I moved my return flight date by one day. After changing flight they said they do not honor. As I had booked on Expedia, the Expedia agent tried to help us with no luck. I had to book another hotel for one night. If they hadn’t promised that they would honor my request I would not have changed my flight. I lost almost $1500 as a result of all these. The second issue was that they gave a sea facing room with good balcony, but the room size was very small. With 4 people the room was smaller than some of the cheap airport hotels. The third issue is- the first day the restaurant in the resort said they need us to reserve as it was Christmas Eve. They also told there is no reservation required following days. When we arrived on 26 th night they again told the reservation is accepted for enclave members. That info was not given to us when we checked in. We also had enclave rooms. Except for the beautiful beach the other things were very ordinary. I would not recommend this resort.
