This is an immaculately clean and beautiful property. The staff is wonderful, extremely friendly and attentive. You feel like royalty from the minute you arrive. The food at all the restaurants was amazing. We did the Elite Club and our room had an amazing view, and the beach cabanas were an awesome benefit to elite. Other than that, there was nothing special about elite. The only downside to this property is the distance from Puerto Vallarta, it’s about a $40 taxi round trip, so if you want to go shopping or any activities take that into consideration. We spent a week at RIU Palace and did get a little bored. A person can only party and drink so much. Lol Overall it is an amazing resort. Book it.

Staff were all courteous and friendly. A special thanks goes to Jose Antonio, at the front desk check in. The room was very clean, comfortable and everything worked well. The entertainment was good for the most part. The beach was clean but, at times the outside people were annoying trying to sell stuff to the guests. I have been to many RIU’s in my travels and rate this facility an 8-9 overall. Rc.

The facility and grounds are lovely; very upscale and clean. There’s AC in the lobby and the restaurants, but not so cold that you need to bring a wrap to dinner. You can adjust the AC in your room. The bed is comfortable. The humidity is such that your papers get limp and your towels and swimsuits never dry completely. The food is on a par with cruise ship food (maybe Carnival cruise ships). Some is pretty good, some is pretty bad. (We thought our meals at the Steakhouse were inedible, but really liked the Italian restaurant.) At least if you get a bad meal, you can go to the buffet afterwards and find something you like. Definitely try going in the ocean because the water is as warm as bath water. (Unfortunately the pool is also that warm, which is not ideal in the heat.) If you don’t go to the show and you want to read in bed, bring some good earplugs because they keep the sound unnecessarily loud at the show and it goes until 11 or something. I recommend staying at Riu, but just temper your expectations about the food.
