Cheap flights from Newark to Berlin
Situated along the municipal boundary of Newark and Elizabeth, Newark International Airport (EWR) can be reached from the south by taking the NJ Turnpike north. This airport can be used to reach Berlin Tegel (TXL) and the flight duration is usually around eight-and-a-half hours. The destination airport is five miles from the Berlin city center and has a car rental facility on the lower floor, as well as taxis outside terminals C and E.
Attractions
For a bird's-eye view of Berlin, visit the Reichstag building that has a glass dome. If you are a fan of history, the Brandenburg Gate is a must, as well as the Holocaust Memorial. For some great art visit, Hamburger Bahnhof; a former railway station that now houses plenty of contemporary art. The city also features the Jewish Museum, Neues Museum and Pergamonmusuem. Don't forget about the Berlin Zoo, either.
Hints and tips
In summer, you can get away with packing light clothes but bring along a jacket for when it becomes cooler. Things can get wet though, so pack an umbrella or raincoat if you don't want to get drenched. If you are a budget, you'll find hotels in the Friedrichstein area the most affordable, and you'll find hotels with good value near Prenzlauer Berg. If you want to be near all the attractions, Mitte in the city center is your best bet.
