Cheap flights from Newark to Honolulu
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is located right on the New Jersey Turnpike, and is accessible to I-78 and US-1. EWR is about halfway between Elizabeth and Newark, New Jersey, and public transit services are available to the airport including bus, AirTrain, Amtrak and NJ Transit services.
From EWR to Honolulu International Airport (HNL), typical flight times are 10 to 11 hours depending on stops. At HNL, public transit services can be found outside of the terminal. The airport is right on Interstate H1, which will take passengers to Waikiki, Oahu or their reserved resort hotel.
Attractions and Tips
The USS Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri, along with Pearl Harbor, are must-see attractions for visitors to the island. Sun and fun can be found at Ala Moana Beach Park and Waikiki Beach. Diamond Head and Koko Head are worth a hiking trip, as is the Makapuu Point Light House. The Waikiki Aquarium is one of the best in the state, while the Manoa falls is another beautiful outdoor destination.
Family fun can be found at Wet ‘N Wild Hawaii or Surfing Lessons on Waikiki Beach. For a bit of history, you can attend a luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center or swim with sharks at North Shore Shark Adventures, if you dare!
Visitors to Honolulu typically stay in the many beach resorts, hotels and private rentals in Waikiki Beach. The weather is always hot and humid, and can be unusually rainy from October to March, so pack accordingly.
