Cheap flights from Maui (Island of Maui) to Kona (Big Island of Hawaii)
Kahului (OGG) is a regional airport located on the island of Maui in the state of Hawaii, and is accessible via Highways 36 and 37. Typical flight times are about an hour in duration to Kona Keahole (KOA), and upon arrival, you will probably use the Queen Kaahumanhu Highway to reach your hotel destination.
Attractions
Makalawena Beach has some of the finest white sand of any beach on the Big Island. From atop Mauna Kea, some of the clearest visions of the sky can be observed, because it's above almost half of Earth's atmosphere, and this is why it has many international telescopes mounted on it.
The Big Island tour of Volcanoes National Park takes visitors to the site where several active and inactive volcanoes can be observed safely. Many companies offer helicopter tours of the Big Island, so you can get a bird's-eye view of volcanoes and some of the other natural wonders of the island, like its waterfalls, mountains and lush vegetation.
Hints and tips
Summer on the Big Island lasts from May to September, but the range of temperatures is really only a few degrees above those experienced during the winter months; averaging about 86 degrees and 78, respectively. The western side of the island receives only moderate precipitation, but the eastern side often receives huge amounts of rainfall.
