Cheap flights from Washington DC to Portland
Travel to Washington Ronald Reagan National (DCA) Airport by using the Washington Metro. You can use the Yellow or the Blue lines to get you there with drop off adjacent to Terminals B and C.
The typical flight duration from DCA to Portland International Airport (PDX) is a little over five hours. Located 12 miles northeast of downtown Portland, you can ride the Met Max straight to the city center or you can arrange for a taxi or shuttle.
Attractions and Tips
While you’re on the Max train, consider going to the Lloyd Center for some shopping. This mall features a store “Made in Oregon” that only offers items made locally. There is also an indoor ice skating rink to enjoy.
The International Rose Test Garden is a great place to experience Portland’s outdoor atmosphere. Here you can see over 8,000 different types of roses and tour around free.
Consider checking out the Multnomah Falls at the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, with plenty of hiking trails from which to choose.
Because of all the outdoor activities available, be sure to pack a comfortable pair of shoes as you are probably going to be doing a lot of walking or hiking. While winters are cold and summers tend to be warm, fall and spring are less consistent. Because of this, pack clothing for different weather scenarios just in case.
