Cheap flights from Phoenix to Fort Lauderdale
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) borders three cities in Broward County, Florida. It is a few minutes’ drive away from world-renown beaches, including Fort Lauderdale Beach, Las Olas Beach and Hollywood Beach. FLL's central location gives both business and leisure travelers arriving at this airport, excellent access to the cruise line hub in Port Everglades.
The city earned the moniker of "Venice of America" for its vibrant neighborhoods clustered around the canals, and the Intracoastal Waterway. High-rise office and residential condos, a thriving Arts and Entertainment District, fine dining and shopping options such as Sushi Rock Café on Las Olas Boulevard, all help to contribute to downtown Fort Lauderdale's cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Key Facts
U.S. 1 and Interstate 95 are the major arteries to and from the airport, while A1A is the scenic north-south route that showcases the beach areas. It is helpful to have a map or GPS device when driving around Fort Lauderdale, because access too many of the local roads may be limited by operator-controlled drawbridges. Southbound I-95 is the primary link to Miami and Key West while the northbound end goes to Boca Raton, Palm Beach and other points north.
Hints and Tips
Nonstop flights between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and FLL take about four and a half hours. The airport is a hub for affordable flights to the Caribbean, South and Central American destinations. Tri-rail service connects FLL to the airports in Palm Beach and Miami. Consult the volunteers at the FLL Visitor's Center for more information.
