Cheap flights from Phoenix to Maui (Island of Maui)
Notable for being the largest airport in Arizona, the Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) is located off Interstate 10. If you choose to drive to the airport, you'll find parking lots that accommodate 30,000 vehicles. The Sky Train light rail system and Valley Metro bus system also have routes to the airport. Travelers find typical flight times are usually about six hours to Hawaii. Upon arriving at Kahului (OGG), travelers can take the one of the routes operated by Maui Bus, hire a taxi or rent a car.
Attractions and Tips
If you are a windsurfing fan, make sure to check out Hookipa Beach. It's recognized as one of the best windsurfing spots in the world. Alternatively, spend some time at Maui Nui Botanical Gardens to enjoy seven acres of flora and fauna. The attraction is open Monday through Saturday. Iao Valley State Park is another attraction known for natural beauty. It has particularly impressive rock formations.
If you are staying near the airport, your hotel will likely be east of downtown Kahului. Otherwise, many people who visit Kahului stay throughout West Maui. Late spring and early fall are considered the off seasons, so the attractions and beaches are less crowded and the overall rates should be lower. The rainy season is November through March, and weather is drier from April through October.
