Cheap flights from Philadelphia to San Francisco
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is a short drive southeast of the city, and is a wonderful place to start your exploration of the Bay Area. If you rent a car at SFO, your possibilities extend even further; get up to Napa Valley for wine tasting, or over to gorgeous Highway 1 for an unbelievable drive head along the Pacific; your options are endless.
San Francisco is one of America’s most charismatic cities, so whether you spend your time shopping in Union Square, poking around Chinatown or hiking the eucalyptus groves in the Presidio, be sure to find some time to relax and soak up the local culture a bit.
Key Facts
Highway 101 is the best way to get into San Francisco from SFO. Travel north from the airport until 101 turns into Van Ness Avenue, to reach the heart of the city. From there, Nob Hill, Market Street, and Pier 49 are all within a couple of miles. Nob Hill has some of the city’s best hotels, and Golden Gate Park and the beaches on the west side of town, are a great escape if you get tired of the crowded areas around the piers.
Hints and Tips
The flight time from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to San Francisco is just over 4 hours. If you land at SFO on an empty stomach, hop in a rental car and head to Chinatown or North Beach.
