Attractions and Tips
As Tennessee’s capital, Nashville is nicknamed “Music City” for a reason. Legendary songwriter Johnny Cash and wife June Cash hailed from Nashville, as do modern stars Cheryl Crow and Kelly Clarkson. The Johnny Cash Museum is located near Cumberland River just south of downtown and The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is just a few blocks away.
History awaits you at the Belle Meade Plantation and The Hermitage, the home of President Andrew Jackson. Dig into Nashville’s favorite hot chicken at Party Fowl, 400 Degrees and other restaurants. End your night right at Robert’s Western World or Layla’s Bluegrass Inn for some live country music and casual atmosphere.
Temperatures range from the mid-40s in winter to the low-90s in summer. Snow is common in winter. If you are driving on to Memphis, TN, plan for about three-and-a-half hours in the car via I-40 W.
