Attractions and tips
Fort Lauderdale is situated on the Atlantic coast of Florida, and Fort Lauderdale Beach is just a short ride from the airport. If the 23 miles of beaches aren’t your speed, the city is just north of Hollywood, which boasts many arts and culture attractions.
Fort Lauderdale is also home to the International Swimming Hall of Fame. Check out the Stranahan House for a spooky tour of the city’s pioneers, Frank and Ivy Stranahan.
Fort Lauderdale typically has a warm climate, even during winter months. Jackets and sweaters might be useful on cool days or for the powerful indoor air conditioning. Most visitors choose to stay at one of the many beachfront resorts and hotels, but there are hotels located conveniently near the airport and downtown as well.
