Undeterred Perseverance on the Court

The University of Utah's program began in 1974 with a strong showing of incredible talent, the inaugural team finishing the season with a 12-2 record and taking the conference regular season championship. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, they remained a dominant force in their conference, raking in the championship titles. In 1983 the Utes received their first invitation to the NCAA Tournament. They became a regular contender, though it would be fourteen years before they pushed through to the second round. The early 2000s saw a solidifying of Utah's legacy in their conference and new successes in the post-season. In 2001 the Utes finally entered the Sweet Sixteen, and five years later they made their Elite Eight debut. In 2013 the team dominated in the WNIT, losing by a crushing three-point margin in the championship game against the Drexel Dragons.
