Rivalries
The rivalry between the Kings and the Los Angeles Lakers began in the 2000s. The Kings put up a good fight the first few times they were up against the Lakers, but ultimately the Lakers were able to pull out a win in the series. However, since then with new and talented players being brought onto the teams, it was clear they are both top talents. The power keeps shifting, which adds to the intensity fans bring to the games. The Golden State Warriors have also brought fierce competition to the court against the Kings. And with players such as Steph Curry on their team, the Kings know they have to be on their A-game every time. But each team is able to hold their own which makes for an exciting match.
Golden 1 Center
The Golden 1 Center opened in September 2016 and is located in downtown Sacramento. This replaced the Sleep Train Arena. A lot of the materials used during this construction are regionally sourced materials including recycled aluminum. The design for this venue stressed the importance of being efficient and using renewable energy, so a solar power rooftop was also installed. In addition to being environmentally friendly, this venue sets itself apart from the rest by providing free wi-fi that is 17,000 times faster than the average home network.
