Early Career

Playboi Carti originally used the name Sir Cartier when he was posting his rap music to the internet. These days most of his old tracks have been deleted from the internet. It wasn’t until 2012 when he began rapping under the name Playboi Carti and signed to the label Awful Records.

In 2015, his singles “Fetti” and “Broke Boi” were released and began bringing him attention. He began collaborating with other artists in the Atlanta area like Lil Yachty, Yung Bans, Ethereal, and many more.

Recent Years

In 2017, Carti was recognized in XXL’s Freshman Class. He was featured that year on Lana del Rey’s single “Summer Bummer” and A$AP Mob’s single “Raf”.
