Joining the Pantheon of Pop Punk Demi-Gods
Banding together in a friend's apartment in Florida, New Found Glory recorded their first EP, It's All About the Girls, in 1997. They became a punk darling on the underground scene, with fans quickly snatching up copies of the EP. After being signed to a label, their popularity began to bleed over onto the mainstream music scene. They performed at Warped Tour and opened for Green Day. With hit singles like "My Friends Over You," "Head on Collision," and "At Least I'm Known for Something," New Found Glory cemented their spot as princes of pop punk. They continued to prolifically release new music and perform at festivals like Bamboozle, SlamDunk, and Soundwave. Critics and listeners alike laud the band for their heart-achingly honest lyrics and catchy rhythms. After the release of Resurrection in 2014, New Found Glory had spent little time in the studio. However, after three years, the band came out with Makes Me Sick.
From the Screen to your Stereo to your Town Tour
New Found Glory had one of their busiest years to date in 2019 with them touring much of the year only taking a slight break during the summer months. The band released a cover EP in the beginning of the year entitled From the Screen to your Stereo 3 in which they covered songs by Huey Lewis as well as songs from Frozen, Rocky, and Twilight. In the early half of the year the band toured throughout the United States, and after a much-needed break they embarked on the road once again in November. Their fall tour kicked off in Fayetteville at George’s Majestic Lounge, and wrapped up in Birmingham at Saturn. Stops along the way included Omaha, Madison, Cincinnati, Toronto, Hartford, Boston, Huntington, and Richmond. Supporting acts for their fall tour included Hawthorne Heights, Free Throw and Betty Bones.
