Their home stadium is in Mexico City at the Estadio Azteca, and they've recently been ranked by the FIFA organization as the 17th best team in the world.
History
Soccer in Mexico traces its roots back to the early 20th century when immigrants fleeing to the country from Spain created the early organizations. Early teams did not compete on a global scale in the beginning, only competing at international friendly games. After dominating teams at friendly games, Mexico officially founded their national soccer team in 1927. The team had their first international tournament when they competed at the 1928 Summer Olympics, a tournament which they were eliminated by Spain. In 1930, the team competed in their first FIFA World Cup, losing in their first match to France. Nearly twenty years passed between their first World Cup appearance and their second in 1950. By the time they qualified for the 1950 World Cup, they had made quite the name for themselves as the strongest team in the North American Football Confederation. Despite their success, they had a hard time competing against the European teams. In 1965 they won their first CONCACAF Championship game. Throughout the next several years Mexico would go on to dominate international soccer, and by July of 2009 they had won their eighth CONCACAF Championship. In 2018 Mexico had dethroned the defending champion Germany at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Despite a promising beginning, they would go on to be eliminated before reaching the quarter finals. After yet again another disappointing loss, Mexico let go their head coach Juan Carlos Osorio, and replaced him with Gerardo Martino.

Their players are among the best in the world and have been competing at a world-class level throughout the team's nearly 100-year history.
