About Rihanna
Born in St. Michael Parish, Barbados on February 20th, 1988, singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty was always destined to be a star. Her early life wasn't easy, however. Her parents had a tumultuous marriage, caused primarily by her father's addiction to drugs and alcohol. Rihanna's parents eventually separated when she was a teenager and music became her main form of escape. At 15, she formed a group with two other girls from her school and her big break soon followed: The girl group caught the eye of American music producer Evan Rodgers, who was on the island for a vacation. Rodgers was so captivated by Rihanna's performance and stage presence that less than a year later he asked her to move to his home state of Connecticut to begin auditioning for high profile record producers. Rihanna packed her bags for the U.S. and didn't look back. A star was born. After spending some time recording demo albums with Rodgers, Rihanna soon secured her first audition with Def Jam Records, heading by music legend Jay-Z. The meeting was a success, with Jay-Z offering Rihanna a record deal the very same day.
Becoming a global superstar
Less than a year later Rihanna's first single was released - "Pon de
Replay." The single was an instant hit, playing on radio stations across the nation and reaching the No.2 spot on the
Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Riding off the success of the single, Rihanna released her first album a few short weeks
later, titled "Music of the Sun." The album was a relative success, reaching No. 10 on the album charts. Rihanna gained
further recognition in the spring of 2006 after the release of her second album, "A Girl Like Me." The album featured
several hit singles including "SOS" and "Unfaithful," with the former track earning Rihanna her first No.1 in the singles
chart. The success she experienced during this time fueled the growth of her dedicated fan base, with countless numbers of
loyal followers becoming desperate to get their hands on cheap Rihanna tickets. And while it's true that 2006 was a
whirlwind success for Rihanna, 2007 was the year that she truly hit the big time. Collaborating with Jay-Z on the
internationally renowned single "Umbrella" and releasing her third studio album "Good Girl Gone Bad," Rihanna consolidated
her position as a global superstar.

Grammy Award. A third Grammy shortly followed for her work on her seventh studio album "Unapologetic" in 2012. The album
featured the popular singles "Stay" and "Diamonds," with the latter earning her yet another No. 1 on the album charts. In
recent years Rihanna has focused on an ecclectic array of projects, including a collaboration with music icon Paul McCartney, as well as becoming an advisor on the popular
television show, "The Voice." Rihanna released another album in the January of 2016 on Jay-Z's streaming service, Tidal.
