We booked our room on Expedia for three nights. They put us in the east wing. We discovered our wing was under construction with some workers doing what looked like waterproofing of the exterior of the rooms. Noise started up early each morning and on the final night of our stay, we returned from hiking to find a thick layer of a powder on the floor and furniture from the workers. This make us cough but we had to pack up our stuff and ask to be moved to another room after a long day of hiking. We had to depart the next day at 5am, so it was a major inconvenience to have to change rooms. They did send a bellman to help, and comped the $105 resort fee. The room that they moved us to was large but the pillows were terrible, so neither of us could use their overly large pillows without it hurting our necks. I used a towel as a pillow. The front desk worker Justin who took our complaint about the construction dirtying our room gave an initially pitiful offer of a free breakfast and two queen sized beds despite hearing we were leaving 5am and on our honeymoon. The operator was able to get the situation fixed better than the front desk worker. I don’t have the impression that they care much about their customers at this hotel. We did try Embers for a four course fine dining meal, Jackalope for dinner at the bar and both were great. The restaurant and bar team was superb. There are not many good hotel options near Yosemite. For $300 per night, I cannot recommend.

Stay away!!!
Before booking and arriving, I had several phone calls as well as email contacts with the property. I was NOT told the truth about what the "cottage" was. We got there and it was basically a hotel room with two beds that was located away from the main lodge. I am handicapped and this place was in no way ADA compliant. To top that off, there is a soft spot in the floor that we were afraid to walk on, no handrails in the bathroom, paint is peeling. They did offer to move us to a 2 bedroom cottage, though both bedrooms are upstairs and I can't climb stairs. The next offer was a one bedroom with a sleeper sofa. What!!! The only redeeming thing about this place was our server at breakfast, a young man named Byron. They should make him manager or at least put him in charge of training people on customer service and courtesy. I'd hire that young man in a heartbeat. He almost made up for the rest of the awful stay.

This was our first family vacation and we were not disappointed at all. My husband and I were very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. I would have given them 5 starts but the only down fall was the alcohol. For the price they charge, the drinks ordered should not taste more like juice.

Pros - family friendly amenities including a game room (though several of the machines were broken), well-maintained grounds, and close to the park entrance (about an hour’s drive to the main sights). But, they need to train their staff better for $400/night. We arrived at 2pm and were told that check in wasn’t until 4 but they would prioritize our room and text when it was ready. By 4:15 we still didn’t get a text - so much for the priority. It wasn’t until our entire family unpacked that we realized the AC wasn’t kicking on. During a heat wave, this should be checked with every room turnover. We were assigned a new room without an apology, and after packing up our stuff we entered a room that smelled like an ashtray. When we called down to the front desk, the response was “this is a non smoking hotel”, as if we were liars. They ended up sending up a young employee and his first reaction was “whoa someone’s definitely been smoking in here.” Again no apology from the front desk, just handed us a new key. We later asked to talk to a manager and she offered us breakfast vouchers, but it soured our first day. We requested housekeeping and they never came - called the front desk and again no apology. They also told us if we want anything more than trash removal we need to specify, which is odd for a so-called 4 star hotel. Overall they have the ingredients of a lovely hotel, but need to improve service.

Ideally located just a few miles from Yosemite's south entrance. Rooms were nicely appointed and spacious. We liked the choice of amenities too, from 2 looks, archery, fire pits, and live piano music in the lobby during the evening. Jackalope Restaurant had good food for both breakfast and dinner. We did not try Embers since it was only open on the weekends and we already had reservations elsewhere. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My only small complaint is the magnifier make up mirror mounted on the wall was obviously mounted by a very tall person. It needs to be at least a foot lower.
