Staff were friendly. Pool is smaller than it looks on the photos but good fun. Wardrobe door was broken and fan legs looked broken but managed to fix them. Bed super comfy and breakfast was tasty. Shame you get charged for parking when staying there for the night, missed that in the small print!

Had a lovely stay here. Room was very comfortable and clean. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast with plenty of choice of food. Swimming pool was great, and evening meal was available too. Would like to stay again

Had a lovely stay at the hotel with my mum and daughter. Great room which was huge. Fantastic food especially the breakfast. All staff were friendly and professional. A real bonus having the spa and pool area. Bus ride into York was minutes so very convenient. Will definitely return.

Great Service at the Delta Marriott
Marriott Delta, reception - brilliant service, housekeeping - excellent, bar and service staff - excellent, Chefs - provided the very best food standards and service, we had allergy requests that were treated with respect and executed perfectly. The Chef I met on Wednesday morning at breakfast was the most helpful person, so kind and polite - thank you everyone. Only small complaint was that the bedroom was hot and airless, there is no air-conditioning, if the window could have been opened wide to let fresh air in this would solve the issue. But I would still highly recommend this well placed hotel with it's lovely facilities, garden and great views.

Perfect hotel if you want to stay close to York but not right in the town centre. The surroundings and local area to the hotel are beautiful with a shop, petrol garage and 2 pubs just over the road. The hotel has everything you’d need and is perfect for small families, couples and businesspeople. The swimming pool was really nice and a good temperature. Everything was to a high standard and all you could want for a few nights away.

A great hotel that was only let down by its lack of air conditioning. The room and hotel were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to walk or catch a bus into the centre of York. Unfortunately the air con did not work on what were very hot nights. It meant it was difficult to sleep, which spoiled our enjoyment of the hotel.

Good. Nice room. Pool area could do with a refurb
No air con in bedroom, just a blower system that put out warm air, so room was too hot. Sauna and steam room never got hot, jacuzzi was nice but no back jets (also load of dirt in one corner). Reception staff lovely. Breakfast really good. £7 to pay for parking - didn’t know about!

It’s ok, but not 4 * IMO
The staff are good and polite. Location is very nice albeit out of “town” a bit (I knew that and was ok with it - good exercise to walk from/to it). There is a bus stop opposite hotel which makes it a very quick journey to town. I was on second floor. Shower pressure terrible and had to unscrew the shower head to have a shower. I did report it to reception but not sure there is anything they could have done without a plumbing job. Safe didn’t work either but that was fixed upon reporting. The room was cleaned on the only day it qualified for, but unfortunately the emptied bin must have missed the cleaners collection bin, so it was on the floor of the room (only two things, I wasn’t too bothered). Breakfast is good value if you eat well - my main issue was the coffee being very poor quality. It looks like a bean to cup machine but tastes just like instant. Given how quickly the coffee comes out and lack of grinding sound, I can only believe it’s instant. Gym was ok, if compact. I didn’t use the pool but the people in there seemed very happy. Overall I’d say you pay for the location overlooking racecourse. Probably a 3.5* max in my opinion but seems I maybe had bad luck all round.

Disappointing stay
On arrival the room I had booked wasn't available. The receptionist wasn't helpful and kept saying they were fully booked. We then had to take a folding bed which was not acceptable. In addition an event was also booked that evening which we weren't made aware of till we arrived. Not the service I would expect, nor would I stay there again.
