Our stay started off well with a shuttle pick up from the station. The traditional look and style of the Yorozuya is beautiful. My husband and I booked the private spa for 2 hours our first night and it only cost $100 for us both to use. The private spa was absolutely amazing and even though it was modern compared to everything else, I loved that it was a private all inclusive experience that my husband and I could enjoy the baths and sauna together at our leisure. They provide drinks inside too which was very refreshing. The only downsides were the room's furnishings (futon, chairs) and bathrooms needed some serious updating. I suppose you don't use them as much since you're in the the baths outside, but the futons were not soft enough for my back, so it was hard to sleep. The walls and carpeting also need updating and small repairs need to be done (our sliding door's handle immediately fell off when trying to use). The food was also a bit outdated and dinner took forever to complete. Overall, we really did enjoy our stay, but feel there are some easy improvements that could be made to make the experience more enjoyable and comfortable. The staff were all friendly though and breakfast was tasty and much quicker than dinner, thankfully. I would recommend trying this ryokan!
I had the fortune of having a magical hot spring experience in snow. The main pool is breathtakingly beautiful, especially on a snowing night. Really kind staff and great food. One pro tip is that they have a small shuttle to the train station (which we didn't know until after we left) and also delivers bags to a cafe in front of the station.
Very accommodating. Explained how the stay would function given it is a ryokan and not a typical hotel. Onsen facilities were beautiful and well kept. Staff is extremely friendly and personable.
Service is "Japanese style", means extraordinary. Just wow! excellent dinner. Breakfast is less suitable for us, but it was traditional, so expected. Cleaning is just perfect.
We loved our stay. It is a very traditional inn with a fabulous onsen. Don’t go expecting a Hilton Garden Inn. The people were wonderful, the food was fabulous, the whole experience of a traditional Japanese inn was just what we wanted, and better.
The hot spring onsen was truly a treat.
Thank you to the whole staff for making our trip truly memorable, and just what we wanted.
The stay was very authentic and enjoyable, I would not suggest staying if you’re not heavily into Japanese culture. As the hotel itself is a very traditional experience with dinner and breakfast included. The bathhouse is very beautiful and enjoyable, although be advised if you are heavily tattooed they will allow entry to the bathhouse. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it.
Traditional Ryokan but quite big giving it a hotel feel. Absolutely lovely and beautiful onsen, traditional and nice reception of guests and great rooms. Only issue was bathroom facilities that suffered from smell and the lack of WIFI in room.
