This quintessential one-bedroom Yachats vacation rental is sure to enchant its guests with a picture-perfect getaway to the Oregon Coast. Nestled in a secluded woodland area and only steps away from infinite ocean waves, this darling cottage is ideal for a romantic excursion or relaxing solo retreat.

This endearing home embodies Yachats' affectionate nickname, the 'Gem of the Oregon Coast.' Explore the beautiful, uncrowded beach only 75 yards from the front door, or journey three and a half miles south to downtown where you'll find restaurants, the Green Salmon Coffee House and a handful of galleries to browse. Further south is the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area where you can stare out over an 800-foot viewpoint at rugged coastline. Newport is about 20 miles north with all the assets of a larger city and the renowned Oregon Coast Aquarium!

Tucked among trees, you will be charmed by this cottage's gingerbread house exterior with wooden siding and red trim. Once you step inside, you will feel right at home in its cozy interior filled with comfortable furnishings and cheerful decor.

The living room is a snug place to relax after an exhausting day of exploring the coast, and there's a comfy spot for everyone with two plush recliners and a sofa. Choose from the selection of VHS tapes provided for your enjoyment and settle down in front of the TV for a movie night. A DVD/Blu-ray player and cable are included, plus you can use the Smart TV to log into your personal Netflix account. There is also an assortment of board games, so during stormy evenings spread out on the rug for endless entertainment or use the wireless Internet access to catch up on your email.

The living room opens into the kitchenette that features all the major appliances and cooking utensils (including Calphalon cookware) that you require to satisfy your culinary needs. A refrigerator, stovetop/oven, and microwave are at hand for mixing ingredients and preparing delicious cuisine. A coffee grinder and coffee maker are included for brewing delicious cups of your favorite morning beverage. A cute wooden dining table provides the perfect space to share meals and although there isn't a dishwasher, you can always let the mess soak while you enjoy a sunset from the back deck.

When the sun is shining, plan a picnic-style lunch on the back deck. It's a perfect nook for relishing a few chapters of your favorite book, or writing reflections in a journal. Pick up fresh seafood while you're in town and bring it back to prepare on the grill. There's even an outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores for dessert. When you're in the mood to dine elsewhere, The Drift Inn is a favored spot with a tasty menu and live music most evenings.

Clean, fantastic location
The cottage is just steps from the beach and a short drive to town. It’s the perfect size for two people. It’s close to lots of beautiful sights and tidepools. Hope to be lucky enough to stay here again someday!

No view of ocean
We enjoyed our stay very much, EXCEPT, most of why we chose the cottage in the woods was because of the ocean view the advertisement showed. THERE WAS NO VIEW OF THE OCEAN!!! There were 2 houses that obstructed any view there might have been! Your advertising needs to be changed to NOT show a view of the ocean. As it is now, it's false advertising. The bed is too large for the size of the bedroom. Other than those two complaints, we loved the cottage. All of the amenities were fantastic!

Wonderful little cottage
We enjoyed our stay, and the walk to the beach really wasn't bad, even with the rocks mentioned in the listing. It was a nice little cottage, but the yard could have been better taken care of. It was pretty long and some poison oak. However, that didnt affect our stay because we just wanted the beach!

The perfect house in the woods!
My girlfriend, dogs, and I stayed in what we called “the hobbit house” in the middle of a rainstorm and it was epic! The covered patio area was perfect to watch the rain, and still stay dry. The house was very clean and had everything we needed! The furniture was very comfortable and plenty of activities to keep busy. We had an issue with the hot water heater, but within an hour the repairman was out and made reset the switch. He was super friendly and told us about the area. We didn’t walk to the beach, mostly because trying to get the dogs down the wet rocks seemed unsafe. However, we were so close to other access points, it didn’t matter to us. Overall, a perfect place with very accommodating hosts. Will definitely stay again!

Cabin was great, but there were problems.
The cabin was cute and cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable, and it was very well stocked. Minor detail: we couldn't find the base for the blender. The view of the ocean from the path was wonderful. We did have some problems, however. First, we found the instructions for the heater confusing. The heater near the bathroom didn't respond to the programming. The one in the front did. But the big issue was the keys. It was hard to get the key to work going in, and then it never worked again -- despite jiggling. It locked and unlocked from the inside but not the outside. The next morning, we called because we didn't know what to do. We were told it would be taken care of. In the meantime, we left the back door open, which didn't feel fair to the owner or us, since we left laptops, etc., there when we left for the only full day we had. When we got back to the cabin, there was no note or call about what had been done and we didn't see any change. We called again that night because we were leaving the next morning, and again, nothing was done. We were advised to jiggle the key, which we tried over nad over. The first time we used it to get in, it was iffy, but after that, it didn't work. When we left the next morning, we ended up being a little late because we couldn't get the lock box to fit into its box either. But it looked like the housekeeper was waiting so we left. The key situation created quite a bit of stress for us, which was a shame. That's why only 4 stars.

Comfortable space
Great little get away and the cabin is very comfortable. Summertime highway noise might be problematic during the warmer season if you like sleeping with open windows. Lesson for us was overlooking the trash pickup info on the refrigerator - we didn't see that and failed to put the trash cans out - had some cosmetic damage to our car with the employees yanking cans around.

Quiet beach stay
I liked this property because of its location and price. The house was small. However there were red ants that got tracked inside that were biting both so us! It looks like they just removed some trees so I’m not surprised of that issue but the ants need to be exterminated for sure.. Aside from that issue I liked the fully stocked kitchen. It was a cute house and the bathroom was nice, loved the shower!

Close enough to hear the roar of the Ocean!
We loved this property, it was fully equipped and very close to the beach. The Wifi signal was reliable and fast. A short walk takes you to the stairs leading to the beach. (Of note that the stairs are a bit steep and you must navigate carefully over some large rocks so maybe not recommend for those with mobility issues or those requiring assistance) the beach is amazing! great for families and beach-combing. Close to Yachats and Waldport. We were traveling with two small dogs that loved the yard.

Very cute place. It's small but quaint! It is extremely close to the beach. The comments about the climbing down the rocks to the beach are true; however, I'm not in the best shape (knees replaced) but I was able to do it! Overall it was a nice stay. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!

Cute but small!
Cute cottage, adjacent to two other houses. Bed very soft for my taste. Wall heaters struggled to keep house warm. Back deck was nice...covered, with two Adirondak chairs and a picnic table. Nice back yard for the dog. Cheerfully decorated inside.

Great Costal Getaway
This cozy cabin is nestled between Yachats and Waldport. There are two properties next to it but it still feels private and the neighborhood is very quiet. It's also about a 1 minute walk to a tranquil stretch of beach. There's a nice back covered deck with chairs, a propane grill and a table. There's also a large backyard with a fire pit. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals and entertain ourselves on rainy days. The area itself has lots to do with many quaint shops and outdoor trails. No complaints.
