"The pictures almost don’t do it justice! A very cool construction with three domes (each absorbs its own sound) with a very spacious, open kitchen-living room area perfect for gatherings. We were there to celebrate Friendsgiving ( college friends celebrating 16+ years of this get together and 20 years of friendship). Now there are a lot of kids in the mix. We stayed in November. House would be even better in the summer when the pool would be more appealing, but we had a great time enjoying the amazing view and using the sun porch for kid entertainment. The kitchen has most things needed to prepare a large meal, though there were a few things like a large serving platter, baster, non-stick pans, etc. it did not have. Tons of silverware though! Enough for 25 ppl. Glassware was lacking… The beds were pretty comfy! Most vacation rentals have horrible beds. All of us agreed the beds were the best we’d experienced at a VRBO. The bathtub in the Master bathroom did have a weird rust-splattered drip situation… but we didn’t need the tub for anything, so I wasn’t too worried about it. The shower was awesome! Kids toys (as advertised) were few - especially for smaller children. There were a lot of 1,000-piece puzzles and card games. Not much for those 2-10. That said, plenty of room to run outside and use the swings and the cool swing on the sun porch. The host on-site was very nice and patient. She was cool about all of the little kids running around. Wifi is needed for service."

"The house and property are beautiful and perfectly located. Deer and wild turkeys came right to the house. The Yuba river is at the end of the road you drive up on, you just gotta keep driving even when you hit the narrow dirt road. We went for Grass Valley but fell in love with Nevada City. Papa Bear was much bigger than we needed but we love space, and it had plenty of it. We got to sit on the backyard porch and watch the deer. You are in the deep woods, yet only about 3 miles away or so from Nevada City. It was perfect."

"I hosted 8 guests for a yoga & wellness retreat. Alicia set us up with options for massage and horseback riding and was responsive with any questions. The trails are beautifully marked and we wandered through the woods down to the creek and waterfall. The campsites are groomed and marked clearly with a modern and updated bathhouse just for them. The rooms are clean and cozy. So many towels and blankets for extra convenience. The beautiful outdoor deck was perfect for sunset views, sound bath and yoga. We can’t wait to go back for next year. "
