Very Good

Original room booked was in an old building (condo C) with a strong, musty, old closet smell. We asked to be moved and were told that all of the rooms in that building smelled the same. We were able to move to a non-smelly room in the next building for a 50,000 won per night surcharge.
There was no shampoo or body wash provided. The towels were what most westerners consider “hand towels.”
The whole “resort” was a bit dated and appeared to be suffering from lack of tourists. There is that probably a reason why.
we found 2 earwigs, hairs were on the floor.. towels were too small for shower. swimming pool and sauna was closed, even bowling place was closed. nothing to do, and the service wasn't good too. the place is old and not in good condition
They gave us room with strong smoking smell and didn’t want to switch to the other room. We had to complain so hard to switch to different room. It was family trip with my kid. Also we wanted ski resort view instead of parking lot view and they said no rooms available but we saw some other people get the room on the ski resort side after us. Just so many ways they don’t care about the costumers.

They offer only one small towel per one guest if they are not in their membership.
This was worse than a cheap AIRBNB stay. What did I pay 350$ for?!?!
1- No towels! They gave 5 HAND TOWELS (!!!) to 3 of us. HAND TOWELS!!! To use after the shower!!!
2- The bathrooms were clogged; both of them! There were stains on the furnitures.
3- The facilities listed in Expedia are not available for the hotels guests to use. You have to pay extra! Paying extra to a hotel’s mediocre indoor pool...
4- The restaurants... Dont expect to eat for a reasonable price at the facilities. Dinner was 80$ per person!!! Oh and also, they list a bunch of restaurants to choose from but of course they are not all open everyday of the week. Some of them were closed on a Friday evening!?!? And this is the peak season. It is January for god’s sake.
5-Everything is more expensive at the facilities. Even the lift tickets! Buy or rent all from nearby stores on the way.
Oh and also, none of the staff speaks English...
Slopes and ski school and its instructors are the only two things I would recommend.
We will never go back to Oak Valley Resort to stay.
It is very good if you are going there purely to ski. The ski field is right there. There is a supermarket where you can buy food, a few cafes and restaurants where they sell food . The ski field is ok for beginners . The rooms are big for family of 4. It is quite far to go unless you take their free shutter from Seoul in the morning.
Everything was way to expensive. $70 usd for chicken wings and a salad. Also nothing is open during day. All restaurants except coffee shop are not open in morning for breakfast, no room service.
Shuttle service between properties is on 2 hour schedule so you have to wait 2 hours to travel from one property to another. I would not stay here again

Not quite there
Website listed pool, sauna, gym, several restaurants, bar etc without making clear that these are only available on weekends. On a Monday-Wednesday stay in October, with the main purpose of visiting SAN Museum, the Oak Valley ‘ski village’ is a depressing experience. Entertainment consists of walking tunnels lined with arcade games, a closed maekju joint, and the neon-lit GS25 to buy a measly breakfast. The personnel are friendly but have no idea of how and where to access the ‘gorgeous hiking trails’ that were mentioned on various websites from 2014 or so. Thankfully the wifi allows binge watching Brooklyn nine-nine and eating take out fast food in the spacious hotel room.
There is no shower gel or shampoo ... when contacted receptionist , was told to purchase at convenient store .. this is the first hotel we stayed without providing the basic amenities.
I had chanced upon Oak Valley accidentally, and my stay was unexpectedly solo. Nevertheless, I had an amazing time with the helpfulness of the staff, going the extra mile to help me with my stay, and also additional requests that I had asked of them (including arranging for transport).
Will return, as the ski resort was also a gorgeous one to be at!
