Have stayed here previously and really enjoyed our stay. Again, enjoyed our stay and love how handy it is to walk into Bowness. Staff are brilliant especially Moses on the bar who just makes you want to smile. Only negatives are that currently there is some building work taking place and our ensuite was tight to say the least. This did not spoil our stay but loses a star in my rating.

The customer service was exceptional from every staff membet we talked to. Very friendly and informative.we were missing bathroom toiletries like soap and shower gel which I thought was strange but we just went out and bought some thinking it wasn't included, however they were in the bathroom the next day after daily clean so I guess they must have just been forgotten .Lovely relaxing stay.

We booked a Lakeview suite and when we arrived we discovered scaffolding on the front of hotel which blocked our view. The windows were filthy and debris was scattered outside the windows. Workers were constantly outside our windows necessitating the drapes be shut all day. So much for our lake view. As well we could constantly hear them which made taking an afternoon nap impossible. The hotel seemed to think a discount of 20% would make up for this. How wrong they are! The manager would not speak to my husband personally although we asked to speak to them. The staff here are wonderful, the manager notwithstanding. The breakfasts are below average. Everything was lukewarm, including tea. There are no teapots, no milk jugs. I wonder what the Department of Health and Safety would say to the food served at lukewarm temperatures? There is no hand sanitizer available in the buffet area. How soon we forget the lessons of COVID. We watched many people cough or sneeze into their hands and then use the common serving utensils. In the rooms there are no face cloths, no Kleenex, no coffee maker. The blow drier in our room was very dirty, it needed to be cleaned, I hated using it. There is much room for improvement at this hotel if it bills itself as a luxury hotel. The employees here are its best asset. They’re really wonderful.

Nice hotel and pleasant stay

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean and fairly modern. There was some scaffolding outside, and painters could be seen working on the exterior wall from the breakfast area. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the furniture or its condition, but I was informed that the property is under new ownership and currently undergoing refurbishment—so it’s likely not the final look yet. The location, however, was perfect for our needs.

Breakfast choice was excellent and beautiful presented. Staff were very friendly and courteous. Our bedroom was very comfortable ,well furnished and lovely bathroom. We know refurbishing has to be done , unfortunately we looked through the scaffolding at the lovely Lake view but staff and the delicious breakfast compensated . we will return.

Excellent check in staff, but found all staff polite and friendly. Nothing was to much trouble for them. We had a lake view and had been pre informed of the scaffolding outside our window, it did block the view but not too much. Unfortunately the very misty morning put paid to any view but obviously that’s nature. Would definitely return

Nice overnight stay.

Lovely hotel, great location, plenty parking, friendly staff, nice room - was a cosy double lake view, room was much bigger than expected, the bathroom was only small though but perfectly fine. Everywhere was very clean. Breakfast on Saturday was delicious with lots of choice. However, if you’re going soon I would recommend checking with hotel about the scaffolding if paying for a lake view. It didn’t ruin the stay but it was a surprise.
