Terrible service overall. They don’t pick up the phone at reception. They are not willing to help and the check was 1 hour late even though the bedrooms supposed to be ready by 3pm which is the official policy. They knew we have children to feed and sleep for naps. The beds are not comfortable and not good to sleep on.

This was my second time staying here. Its a fantastic hotel. The rooms are very comfortable with great beds, plenty of hot water and a good tv. They are kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast is amazing, with plenty to choose from. You can also get lunch and dinner there, which is plentiful and very tasty. All of the staff are very polite, professional and a credit to the hotel. My only issue was the parking. Last time it was free, this time it was £10 a night, which I thought was a bit dear, especially considering the location of the hotel. You do need a car to get there. Apart from that I think the hotel is amazing and I would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel with lovely lounge area and tasty food and helpful staff. Super comfortable beds and quiet rooms. Some minor design failings such as wardrobe door catches on bathroom doors and no hot / cold signs on shower knob so have to experiment to find right temperature without trying to scald oneself however would happily stay again for clean efficient enjoyable hotel.

Smokers smell
Our lovely accessible room stunk of cigarette smoke so we had to move to a normal room which had no walking shower, single beds, was smaller and basic compared to our original room. This was very disappointing however grateful an alternative room was provided and staff were very helpful. Breakfast was great

A sour taste
We’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Winchester many times since our daughter moved to Winchester. Although it’s an out of town location, it has a huge car park and we always liked the Holiday Inn experience. But this time we were left with a sour taste when we were charged £10 for overnight parking, with no warning at all. Just not what you expect from a professional hotel group like IHG. Or from a hotel a couple of miles from the town with a vast car park. City centre hotel with an underground car park. Fair enough, but a hotel where the only means of getting there apart from a taxi? No. It’s like a stealth tax.
