About this property

River Lodge I Adult upscale getaway. River access in Wimberley!

Adults only retreat - Enjoy a bit of rustic elegance on the banks of the Blanco River as you relax at the time-honored River Lodge. With four alluring, upscale suites each with a unique artistic flair there is plenty of space for a girls weekend, couples getaway or other adult get togethers! Whether you swim, float or bring your boat and paddle, the deep still water of the Blanco River awaits guests. Travel the river upstream or tackle the rapids downstream, the Blanco is sure to delight as it encourages fun in its chilling waters.

River Lodge has a long and colorful history of hosting songwriters, artists, heads of government, actors, and business leaders who all appreciated this unique escape. Arrive at a gated property and follow the winding road filled with wildlife, pretty horses, and picturesque views leading guests to a warm and charming barn style home. Decked with an Antler rack on the exterior of the barn, guests are sure to know they are the lucky ones who are staying at an exceptional location filled with heritage and traditions. Begin your stay in the entertainment space located on the main level of the barn. Enter through the barn doors and find the perfect area for cocktails and entertainment. Mix up favorite drinks or enjoy a special bottle of wine in this area. Choose one of the cozy conversational areas to relax in. *An added bonus guests are welcome to relax and kick back in the dry sauna.

On each wing of the barn overlooking the Blanco River, find four warm and inviting retreats: the Comal, Frio, Blanco, and Llano Suits all offering luxury, comfort, and each with their own artistic flair. Each suite provides a fireplace (only duraflame logs are allowed to be burned), television, coffee maker, mini fridge, sink, and a private covered porch area with seating, choose a water or a nature view to include the horse barnyard. The Blanco, Comal, and Llano suites all offer a King bed and the Frio suite hosts a Queen bed. Sleep soundly on luxurious linens surrounded by creative, colorful art inspired by nature. Tidy up for a night on the town in the full bath with a stand alone shower.

Guests will find sunny days and long evenings are more fun at the River Lodge with endless activities to fill your time. Spend the days on the banks of the Blanco River relaxing. Guests are welcome to bring their canoes, paddleboards, tubes, or other river merriment. Pull out your camera or your paints and capture the natural beauty that surrounds the River Lodge. Relax on the bluff and read a book or kick back on your private porch and simply watch the river flow by. Gather your party out in the trees at the fire pit, cook up something on the gas grill or relax in the shelter of the barn aisle for games or conversation. Enjoy a little equine love at the horse barn watching the sunset across the oak shaded pastures. If your party occupies all four of the suites below, the upstairs game room is yours to play in. Shuffleboard, pool, air hockey and a simple kitchen and lounge areas with large tv make rainy days a little more sunny.

River Lodge is home to an artist/art collector, the walls sing with creative pieces for your enjoyment. Leave the kids behind for this trip and experience the freedoms and wide open spaces in the wilds of the Texas Hill Country at the legendary River Lodge.

Wimberley is only 15 minutes away and offers plenty to do and eat. Visit the galleries and varied shops in the downtown square, or arrange for a trail ride at a local ranch. Scoot your boots at one of the area dance halls. On the first Saturday of most months, Wimberley comes alive with Market Days, a large and varied flea market. Farther afield (about an hour) and decidedly less rural are Austin and San Antonio. The Hill Country is known for excellent wine, as well as for limestone hills and clear streams. You can work your way from Wimberley west to Fredericksburg tasting wine at any of the hundreds of vineyards. You can even hire a limo to drive you.

Looking for an outing for the day? Take a drive to Canyon Lake and rent a boat or jet skis for a fun afternoon on the water. Check out the music calendar at Whitewater Amphitheater and rock out at a concert! Explore New Braunfels and Gruene and enjoy fabulous restaurants and live music. A day of tubing, kayaking, and rafting on the Guadalupe River is always fun.

Blanco has several popular attractions for outdoorsmen, historians, and foodies. Blanco State Park offers fishing, swimming, and hiking. For those interested in the historical Old West, The Buggy Barn has over 140 covered wagons. Real Ale Brewing Company offers guided tours and a taproom tasting experience.

Further down the road, spend the day exploring Fredericksburg. Travel to Wine Road 290 which offers 19 wineries, all within a few miles of each other. Visit one of Fredericksburg’s two amazing museums: the National Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum. During the summer, make sure to stop by a fruit stand and grab some famous Fredericksburg peaches.
