The staff was friendly and efficient, very professional. The carpet in my room desperately needed to be changed. It was old and smelled like wet dog. The lamp was old and rusty, the chair in the room (upholstery) needed some care. Everything in the room needed updating. It was old and dusty. It’s a shame, because the staff was 5-star. But the hotel needs updating like YESTERDAY.

Hotel is right next to UNCW and lots of shopping and restaurants right there, but you would still drive. Beach is about 20 min away. Check In was easy, she even asked if I had any preference on what floor I was on. the room was nice enough, clean, no issues, the beds were pretty good- I saw reviews for them being amazing to terrible for this hotel. Mine was in between it was comfy enough and I’m picky about my beds- but it wasn’t amazing- but also there was no problem with it either. People complained about pillow size but they were nice pillows even if a little smaller than usual and you get 4 per bed. It wasn’t a luxury stay but it was a clean comfortable stay for a low price and better than you would expect a comfort inn to be Breakfast had a bunch of choices - waffles were the only thing I ate and muffins were not in packages so Better than usual Things I wished were different - the shampoo and conditioner were terrible in the tiny bottles. I forgot mine. Bring your own. Tv didn’t have streaming capabilities- I forgot how frustrating tv is with commercials and lack of things to watch. So if you wind down in your room and this is operant to you- you may not be happy about it. If you don’t care about tv then no problems there! House keeping is at the door when it’s time to go- you can get an hour later check out to 12 if you are a choice member but that is it
