The space
The Castle at Lake Livingston Village was inspired by the German Medieval-Gothic castles of the old world. Built to provide our family, friends and guests a relaxing experience, in a wooded camping setting, where memories are made enjoying the gentle outdoor surroundings with access to Lake Livingston, where you, your family and fiends can boat, fish, swim and enjoy the amenities of the area.

The Castle has an upstairs bedroom loft and open seating area with over 420 square feet of living space. The area boasts an antique, Medieval-Gothic styled canopy king size bed, separate King and Queen old world throne chairs and two chaise lounges fit with lyon heads and paws made to serve the pleasure of the Royal Highnesses. A knight in armor keeps a watchful eye over the King and Queens quarters. There is a wood burning stove (not for use) in place to accent the room, providing and quiet and majestic ambiance to relax, read a book or visit with family and friends.

With access to the entire castle property, you also have access The Castle Guesthouse, which was designed to replicate a German-Style Guesthouse that would have been found in the old ages in the town village. It is approximately 325 square feet & includes a small basic kitchenette (no stove or oven), hot plates, refrigerator, breakfast nook, shower, toilet & second floor Studio Loft with double and twin beds, accommodating 3 people.

Outside you have access to a charcoal grill, a wood smoker, fire pit, outdoor seating, picnic table in a camping atmosphere. If you seek a simple get away with basic amenities to enjoy the outdoors, the wooded forest and have private access to Lake Livingston you have found the right oasis!
Guest access
You will have access to the entire 4 lot grounds at the property, the Castle Guesthouse and, of course, the majestic Castle.
Other things to note
The Bedroom Loft is accessible from the outside staircase leading the balcony of the Castle overlooking the property.

The Studio Loft in The Castle Guest House is accessible by a fixed ladder and requires climbing the ladder to get upstairs.

There is no Bathroom or Kitchen in the castle dwelling. You have to go to the guesthouse for bathroom and kitchenette access.

The Castle at Lake Livingston is meant to be a getaway in a rustic almost “rough it” setting where you can unplug, skip the TV and enjoy the lake and outdoors.

If you have questions or concerns, please message host before booking.
There's a private balcony or patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator and a microwave. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. The bathroom has a shower/tub combination.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as charcoal grills.
Guests will find features like onsite parking.

Great experience
Was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There are steep stairs so if you have really young children or bad knees it might not be the best option for you. My kids loved it and thought it was the coolest experience. The castle itself does have a bathroom with shower, a full size refrigerator, and a full size stove/oven which was not on the listing. The guest house also has a bathroom and kitchenette but no stove/oven in it. Host had everything needed in the kitchen, pots pans utensils etc…and was very responsive. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Enchanting
We loved staying at this little castle. The castle is even cooler in person and has a lot of fun details. I especially loved coming down the deck stairs from the second level and walking down to the courtyard & guest house. The property is located in a neighborhood that is a bit unusual if you are only used to cookie cutter planned neighborhoods but there are a lot of neat properties in the neighborhood. The road is unpaved but if you have ever been hunting in Texas you will be familiar with unpaved roads and these are at least flat! I think a car could easily traverse them. The lake would be the main attraction in the area and it is only minutes from the property. There is also lots of choices for restaurants which I was surprised by. If you aren't from the area be aware that mosquito season is no joke here and even mosquito spray won't solve the problem. We did find that we were able to use the outdoor space with a fire and bubble machine going. This seemed to keep the mosquitoes away for the most part. The property will not be ideal for those with an inability to traverse stairs. All sleeping areas are accessed by either stairs or ladder. This was not a problem for was and we actually had a lot of fun but I could see how this would be an issue for others. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. If you find yourself in need of a cozy adventure I would highly recommend! My only recommendation to the owner would be to keep bubble machines on hand for guests.

Charming but Inconvenient
The small details and decor is fabulous! Loved the spacious bedroom. Bed was super comfy, beautifully decorated and I enjoyed drinking coffee while sitting on my throne. Lol Now, I must explain the “inconvenience” part of my title. The shower in the main castle is still in progress so to shower you must walk to the guest house. Also, when you wake up in the morning and want coffee you have to go to guest house as well. There was no trash can in the main castle, which is where we cooked breakfast one morning. I had to get the bathroom trash an and move to the kitchen. The kitchen has minimal amenities. I needed a plastic spoon or spatula to cook eggs. Husband walked to guest house and found one there. When I went to put on make up there were no mirrors in main castle. Back to guest house I went. Now the spiral stairs in main castle is tight and steep going up to the bedroom. Getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom was challenging. First night I used the spiral stairs but the second night I went outside the bedroom and used the exterior stairs and went to guest house. I have a bad knee so by the time we left I felt rough. If stairs are no issue for you I definitely recommend a stay here once. As I read in other reviews the road coming in is rough and basically the castle sits in a trailer community full of RVs and single wides. Odd location but never felt unsafe. Lastly, it was relaxing to sit outside. Loved the rock walkway surrounded by trees. It was a nice place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.

Fun and unique experience!
Loved the decor of the kitchen and master suite! The outside area is wonderful and where we spent most of our time. Bathroom shower and the ladder to the loft is a bit tricky, but we're still young enough to handle it! LOL My sister in law and I found this for our husband's birthday weekend. Wanted something fun and different and we all enjoyed our stay!

Fine
Place was nice, area was not so nice if you have a certain color to your skin. We were warned by the nearest grocery person to watch out about driving around with our skin color. Made the stay very scary and less than pleasant. We wanted to stay outside and have a fire but we were too anxious to stay out too late because of the warning. We placed the heavy locks back on the doors on the inside just to be sure no one came around and barely got any sleep.

Your car may hate you after this trip
To get to property you must drive over graveled roads with thousands of pot holes. The bedroom is charming, but the tiny bathroom is down 17 steep stairs and outside. Shower stall is tiny with shower head on ceiling spraying straight down, so ladies if you don't want your hair wet sorry. You brush your teeth in kitchen sink as bathroom has no sink. Kitchen has hot plates to cook on and a microwave. Restaurants are in to town 10 miles away. The outside deck is quite charming, and the Castle looks charming, but looks can be deceiving.
