Spectacular Panoramic Lake Views in Romantic, Private Setting

Warm days and cool nights, with endless blue water at your doorstep....come and enjoy life on beautiful Lake Ontario.
As evidenced by the now over 150! unanimous (5 star) reviews, this is NOT your typical cottage.
Located on 200 feet of lakefront with breathtaking views of both the sunrise and sunset from your private deck, this lovely one bedroom house is perfect for a romantic getaway for two, or for a small family seeking a lakeside vacation.
45 minutes from Rochester, Buffalo and Niagara Falls and right off the New York State Parkway, the location couldn't be more convenient. With cable TV, WiFi, public water, air conditioning and ample heat plus countless amenities, you'll be on vacation the moment you arrive.
Just as lovely in the spring and fall as it is in the summer, this location is the perfect spot for parents visiting students in Brockport, Rochester, Niagara or Buffalo. Lake Ontario turns a vibrant dark blue in the spring and fall and a walk among the changing foliage in Lakeside Park is simply spectacular. On chillier nights, our fire pit provides a cozy place for you to comfortably linger well past sunset. A large stack of fire wood and plenty of kindling are available for your use. Long summer evenings will amaze you with skies loaded with stars and sparkling fireflies, the likes of which can only be seen in the country.
The unit is all on one floor with an open floor plan, and includes a queen-size bed, a couch that converts into a second full sized bed, a full kitchen and living room, as well as a full bathroom with shower. A privacy screen is available to separate the bedroom area from the living room, if requested. The entire house has been completely remodeled, and is absolutely gorgeous inside.
The property borders on Lakeside Park, where you can enjoy miles of hiking along the breathtaking bluffs on the southern shore of Lake Ontario. A new 18 hole disc golf course is also available for your enjoyment.
In the area you will find several golf courses, fresh produce, a drive-in movie theater and wonderful restaurants. The house is nestled in a lakeside hamlet less than 15 minutes from the Erie Canal. Kayaking and canoeing opportunities along local creeks and waterways abound. You will find each nearby town loaded with unique shops, local landmarks and fascinating history. When you return back to the lake, you'll find the perfect location to relax and read that book you have been looking forward to. Most importantly, you'll have a chance to reconnect with nature and each other.
You'll have the most gorgeous view of the sunrise and sunset from your deck, surrounded by endless blue water. Come enjoy your own private paradise!
Remember, fall is one of the best seasons at the lake! September days are typically warm, but not hot- humidity is low, and the nights are cool. The lake is perfect for swimming, and delicious local produce is available in countless farm stands. October brings star filled skies, nights around the campfire, and the reds and golds of changing leaves.
Every month is beautiful in its own way, but September and October are particularly wonderful!

FAQs:
We get asked a few questions over and over, so I'll try and answer them here:
-Are the decks, hammock and firepit pictured just for the cabin rental, or are they shared with other people? They are all yours.
-Are linens provided? Yup! And everything is washed in HOT water- including all sheets, pillow shams, blankets and the comforter and the quilt on the back of the couch.
-What about dishes, and pots and pans? They're all there, as well as a coffee pot, and a toaster and a little blender, and just about anything else you may need. I will be happy to loan you something special if it's not already in the house.
-What about firewood? It's there, along with kindling and fire starters. And it's included with your stay.
-How do I get to the park? Its about a 500 foot walk from your front door, and it's free.
-Is there Lake access? Yes. There are steps down to the water right in front of the house. Those steps leads to a grassy area and the top of a breakwall. Built into the breakwall are big slabs of stone that give you steps down into the water. We swim here all the time. There's a giant rock you can swim to and dive off into about 6 -7 feet of water. We have life jackets and floating chairs in the shed behind the house for your use.
-Does the water drop off sharply? No, it's pretty gradual. The bottom of the lake is rocky though, so bring water shoes.
-Is there a boat launch nearby? You can drop a kayak in the lake (if the water is not too rough), right in front of the house. There are boat launches all over- the closest ones are at Point Breeze (where Oak Orchard Creek and Lake Ontario meet) or on Lake Alice (a small man-made lake created by a dam on Oak Orchard). Both are about 10-15 min away and both are free. There are a bunch of places to drop a kayak in the local creeks. I have a book with them all listed in the house.
-Where is the nearest sandy beach? Hamlin Beach State Park- about 15 min away on the NYS Parkway. It's a huge park with a great beach and nice trails to bike ride.
-Should I bring my bike? Definitely if you like to ride! There is a great path on the canal that you can ride and ride for miles. You can also ride into Lakeside Park. We also have bikes right in the shed you can use if you don't want to bring yours.
-Are there restaurants nearby? There are a bunch of them! I have a list in the house of the local restaurants, including their phone numbers. Most offer take-out. You'll find that getting your dinner to go, opening a nice bottle of wine and eating out on your front deck is just about the nicest way to spend your vacation. We do it all the time.
-Are there wineries nearby? Lots! Google Niagara Wine Trail and you'll see a bunch on both the NY and the Canadian side. Many are award winning wineries with great reviews.
-Are there breweries nearby? We have a ton of them in the area. I have many listed in the information book in the house, but Google 'breweries near me' when you get here because new ones are opening all the time.
-What can I do once I get there? Hmmmm Where to begin....You can go hiking or biking on the canal. You can gamble in Niagara Falls at the casino. You can swim in the lake. You can fish on the nearby creeks. You can golf at one of the many golf courses nearby. You can visit wineries. You can visit Niagara Falls. You can go antiquing. You can go to the Drive-In in Lockport, and go through a canal lock. You can visit the most enchanting small towns along the canal, with their amazing restaurants and shops. You can visit Rochester or Buffalo, where there's always a festival going on. You can drive to the Finger Lakes. Or you can just sit back and do nothing but stare at the sunrise, sunset, the infinite water or the glorious stars.

Here are some events to help you plan your trip: (These event happen annually, but check to make sure they are still On this year...)

Remaining events:
Buffalo Chicken Wing festival- Labor Day Weekend- Where else but Buffalo can you go to sample the best wings in the country? (Sept 2-3)
Finger Lakes- Keuka Lake and Seneca Lake have countless wineries, many with live music, lunch and dinner options, and tours of the wine making process. The Finger Lakes Wine Festival is scheduled for July 8th in Watkins Glen, but don't wait for a festival to enjoy these world-class wines. The Finger Lakes Beer Festival is scheduled for late October.
The Hilton, NY Apple Festival is the first weekend in October (Sept 30-Oct 1, 2023)
Live Horse Racing is available in Batavia, NY (about a half hour from the house)
Niagara on the Lake hosts the Shaw Festival (featuring multiple performances of first rate live theater) each season, starting in April and running through the fall. Remember access to Ontario, Canada requires an enhanced license or a passport, but if you have that, a day trip to Niagara on the Lake is wonderful!

Visiting son at SUNY Brockport
The property was very nice and cozy. We were traveling with our dog and it was perfect for us. We enjoyed walking through the woods and exploring the frisbee golf course. The view of the lake is stunning and my dog and I enjoyed a sunrise walk. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate the house was comfy and we enjoyed relaxing and spending time with our son. We will definitely book again when we can further enjoy the lake and spend more time outdoors. The home was well equipped with guides of the area and amenities like firewood and supplies if we wanted to try frisbee golf. We would have definitely liked to have had more time to spend there.

Enjoyed Our Stay
Nice property, great view of the lake, and enjoyed the proximity to the State Park for walks. For awareness, the cottage is small and has an open floorplan which incorporates the bedroom, living room, kitchen and eating area. Enough room for 2. There is access to a W/D but not in the cottage itself. Only mentioning this for awareness. The cottage is pretty, and the hosts are very nice and gracious.

Serene Vacation
This is an absolutely lovely little cottage. We were able to open the windows to enjoy the lake breezes. The neighborhood is so quiet, you feel like whispering. The house is extremely clean. Kitchen well stocked and the gas grill was useful to us as we cooked in. Aldi is in Medina; Tops in Albion; there are orchards and farm markets around every corner. We were there for fresh asparagus and strawberries. Sunsets were beautiful. We took day trips to Niagara on the Lake, Lockport and Rush. There's a lovely park 13 miles east with a beach - Hamlin State Park. Age 62 and over free during the week. The park had paved walking/biking trails, places to picnic, and two beaches; one for people and another for dogs. We loved it there but didn't discover it until the last day. We never used the TV once because we were so content to read and just enjoy the quiet and peacefulness. This is a lovely place to visit and we strongly recommend staying here. It's small but you'll figure out where to put your "stuff" and then you'll realize how cozy it is and how lucky you are to be there. Maureen and Darcy are exceptional hosts. We appreciated their generosity. We traveled with our dog and he enjoyed the vacation as well. We plan to return next year. Thank you, Maureen and Darcy for sharing your home.

Long Weekend Getaway
My husband and I had a relaxing, stress free 3 night/4 day stay this past weekend. What a lovely little cottage and setting! Just as described in listing. I am a big 'clean freak' and it was definitely up to my standards! Everything you need is there and if it's not, the owners are more then willing to help. Maureen and Darcy were wonderful to book through. They have a beautiful home next door, and were there if we needed them, but never once did we feel awkward with owners so close. They are definitely 'chill' and kind people! They offered great suggestions for places to go/eat. We rode bikes to the state park right next door, read books while looking out on beautiful Lake Ontario, and had a nice bonfire too. So peaceful and quiet. Will definitely return and rent again in the future. Thank you Maureen and Darcy!
