It was not properly advertised. The accommodations were sparse. It was only two plugs to charge. It was above a nightclub not good there’s no parking.

The room was basic and clean and did the job we needed it to. Maybe a mini fridge would be a nice addition. The shower was nice but as we were on the 4th floor the hot water took a minute the first time. After that it was fine. The hotel is convenient to multiple bus lines and the Metro so if you are doing public transit (and you should)it is ideal. The antique elevator was cool but at only 4 floors it's easy to take the stairs (you could use the exercise). I liked the pictures of famous and well known people and historical figures on the walls. It was fun to try to identify them as you walked by. It has a bar and comedy club in the basement if you find yourself with nothing to do in the evening and don't feel like going far. The neighborhood is.nice and felt safe to walk around. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby for all of your newds. If you are traveling on a budget and/or just need basic accomodations then I would definitely recommend the place. Oh, and as for some other reviews, we detected no funny smells.

Best for fit folks seeking value and safety
Clean room with eco friendly toiletries. Staff were courteous. Feel was casual res hall vibe vs fancy hotel. Room air conditioner in older hotel with updated room. Steep Stairs into building and small older elevator. Getting into and out of building was difficult with my 2 carryons. On a quiet side street just off P st made accessing DuPont area easy. As a middle aged single woman I felt safe and comfortable but also like I worked hard to get in and to my room.

It was fairly easy to locate from Dupont circle metro. Staff friendly and efficient enough but the room was a disappointment. Had to change rooms due to a faulty lock. New room tv didnt work,I reported it but nothing happened. WiFi was poor at times and worst thing was Mosquitoes in the room which left nasty bites on me.

The bed linen had holes and was very old. We were asked not to use the elevator and were placed on the third floor. They have a constant problem with the keys; we need to change the key several times a day to open the door of the room! WIFI DOES NOT WORK THERE

NO MORNING COFFEE!!
The hotel has character but my biggest complaint was not having coffee one of the two mornings. Coffee and hot water is the ONLY thing they say they provide "24 hours a day". When you don't have coffee at 7:30 in the morning and won't have it for an hour, that's really poor service.

This Hotel has the worst disgusting old smell mixed with a cheap cleaning solution . This smell is everywhere : in the lobby , in rooms , on every floor, Very outdated and scratched furniture, horrible carpet like 100 ears old , in some places has sticky spots. Air-conditioning is good and all staff is very friendly , but I will avoid this hotel in a future and would never recommended it to my friends

This hotel has had its day. It is old, faded, not looked after and poorly run. Shame as if it is upgraded it could be quaint again.
