We paid for and reserved a queen room months before our stay. Upon checking in, staff informed us the hotel gave away our room because they had too many Diamond members come and could only put us in a significantly different bunkbed room. Instead of refunding the $100 difference in cost, the manager only authorized staff giving a $72 credit to their restaurant. Upon seeing that room was the size of a walk-in closet with a child's bunkbed and not even receiving our voucher by text, we asked to cancel and get a refund as the hotel couldn't honor our paid reservation. A different receptionist said they couldn't since we booked the advance rate through Expedia and we'd need to call them but they'd see what they could do. This staff person fortunately found us the queen room we reserved and put us in there, noting management would be upset. We appreciated their assistance and stayed in the room we had reserved, which was as pictured and expected for a micro hotel. We don't blame any of the staff for this experience, but management here is horrible given they were unwilling to honor a paid reservation made months in advance, never offered a refund, never sent us the food voucher, never contacted us before check-in to inform us they couldn't honor our reservation, and tried to put us in an unacceptably different room for the same cost- not just a little different, one was sized for adults and one was for kids where you couldn't even sit up on bed or have space for a suitcase.
